Coiled Basketry

Traditionally the ancient craft of coiled basketry used locally sourced plant materials including grasses, leaves, rushes. Utilising the same techniques, a recent version of this basketry craft is to make the baskets using a wider range of materials including yarn and fabric.
A coiled basket is created by binding around a core material in a spiral shape, it is worked into the required shape as it develops.
